I never believe someone anymore when they say they want something and then give an excuse to why they can’t have it! Just this morning I was interacting with a fan on Facebook in a comment thread and suggested she purchase the Dressing Your Truth course for her Type so she would stop guessing how to dress her truth. Here was her response:
“I know I need & want to do that so I’m waiting for money to come my way so I can! I’m on disability and have 9 kids that need my money (one just lost a job the day after he took his new baby home from the hospital) so I’ll look for a way.”
All good viable reasons, but still excuses! It’s making excuses that blocks the flow of what we want to effortlessly show up for us. You see if we really “got” that God wants to bless us with good things in our lives, when we had a desire for something good, we would trust God completely to provide. Here is how a thought process of someone that believes that they will be provided for with every good thing looks like:
“Boy, I really want that, it would be such a blessing in my life and a lot of fun!”
“I am so grateful that I don’t have to worry about when and how it is going to show up! I just have to pay attention to my promptings to take action when it does.”
“Thank you God for always taking care of me, I love how everything I desire shows up for me, YOU are so good to me. ”
When people use excuses after saying how much they want something, I don’t believe they really believe they want it, otherwise they would not have an excuse. We all do it, we blame a power outside of ourselves for not getting something we “think” we want. Could it possibly be that we really don’t want it due to some lie we are still believing? Hard to believe I know, but when we really, really want something God finds a way to give it to us! What excuses are you using to keep yourself from growing because you still believe that personal growth is painful?
In the case of this woman’s excuse, consider the money is coming her way and she is just choosing to give it to others. Money is never a good excuse when we really, really want something. God always provides! A lot of women use the excuse of money and/or husbands to avoid taking the next step in living their truth! Unfortunately there are a lot of women (and men!) who live in mediocrity and fear that don’t even know it- yes I used to be one of those women. If you are a women reading this you no longer have to be one of those women- join me in living our truth! There is a feminine awakening occurring on the planet, join the party! Your next step at our Dressing Your Truth website!
Just a side note: The woman I was interacting with in the comment thread responded to my post with the following. Notice how much more empowering her language is in this comment:
“I totally agree with you Carol. I am on a positive thoughts road to success! I always have what I want and need. I did choose to give $300 to my son yesterday to fix his car and I am choosing to use money to go on a cruise next week and scuba dive then I will choose to take your Dressing Your Truth course after that! Maybe before – who knows… I know everyone can have all the money they need! I agree that everyone should go through your courses! I bought your “Just My Nature” stuff right before Christmas because I knew I needed it and didn’t care what it cost and I LOVED it and it was worth every penny and more! It was worth it to come back to my true self!! Thanks Carol!”

Disability must pay really well these days. A cruise and scuba diving? Wow! you go girl. and supporting 9 children? I must be paying taxes to the wrong government.

I picked up on that too! If she can afford a cruise and to go scuba diving and give her son money to fix his car….then she just didn’t have her priorities in place. In other words she didn’t want the book badly enough or she wanted it for free!
