Dressing Your Truth

Carol Tuttle, The Fashion Therapist is joined by her 4 Types Beauty Panel to share their insights on the myth most women have bought in to that you have to be skinny to be beautiful.  How women battle with dress sizes and weight nearly every time they go shopping.  How have these 4 women released themselves from this outdated myth!  What is your Beauty Profile? http://www.dressingyourtruth.com

    Sheryl,
Your story really touched me. DYT has given me my own a-ha moment regarding weight gain and trying to gain acceptance among those who were uncomfortable with my “full-on” expression of type 4 beauty.

I’ve started on thread on the Living Your Truth forum; I’m curious if this is a common theme among and unique to Type 4s!

This truth about the negative thoughts we tell our bodies really struck home to me when I started reading It’s Just My Nature. I was talking to my car better than acknowledging my body. Not Any More.

I’ve liberated my closet of all but one fave black item, which I’ll probably give away… I’ve been able to lessen portion sizes more easily. I have more room in my closet to see what’s available, & what’s ready for up-cessorizing…

Being comfortable in my own skin isn’t something I’m aspiring to feel, it’s happening. And color, the vibrations of different chromas feed something internal as the food choices I make have more variety & color to them as well.

The depth of your work is touching. Getting us women to love, honor, and cherish our bodies is so powerful. Imagine what we are giving to ourselves and the world by being truer to ourselves! Thank you, Carol, and all the wonderful women here.

    Hello Carol, hi ladies,
Thank you for your lovely comments, i love the expression wearing a bigger size: there is more of me to love;-)

Marcy, i would like to compliment you with your sunny look and the flower, really beautiful;-)

I am starting to live with the idea that i am very likely a type 1, still not figured out my secondary type, but that is fine.
The funny thing is i do not have this orange-red and yellow in my wardrobe, no yellow at all, no orange-red, hardly any of the bright green, threw it out years ago…

Carol, i believe you saw my pictures/ blog, so then you also know i am into the gothic scene, for many years now. Not having black there and showing up in it at a gothic-party, is a non-written rule: NOT DONE;-p

About the black, i am still struggling with that, because of this. I made several costumes for myself, also a black costume with a hoopskirt, and i will never throw them out or sell them! I did ‘dress up’ a black corset with dark green ribbons, and a corsetdress with old-gold organza, i gave the dress a lace-like effect, so yes they turned out to be less black;-)

I must say, yesterday on a gothic-fantasy fair, the only black garment i was wearing was a corset over a white lace top, and a black coat because it was so f***** cold. A wine-red skirt and scarf, a handmade victorian puffed hat, and a lightbrown ‘vest’. So i do try to wear black less than i used to do;-)
I wanted to go in steampunk style but i lacked the the funny stuff like the pocketwatch, the industrial items, goggles, ourglasses…;-p so i ended up very, very straight Victorian except for the fact i wore my corset ABOVE the top instead of underneath like it used to be the fashion-standard.

Just a stupid question perhaps, what do you do with lingerie?? Most of it is still black, especially in wintertime, near x-mas. So it is black (or nothing) That is to say, most of the special lingerie around these days, is black, black, black…
My skin is really white (i am a redhead), and most men find black very beautiful on me.

What about sleeping in black undergarment? I am a type 1, do i get more ‘relaxt’ wearing black during sleepingtime?? Or would it work the opposite way and makes me more restless??

What about the missing aspect of jewelry for the men??

Thanks, kind regards and bright blessings, Erika

I discovered Energy Profiling and DYT while I was a few months pregnant. It was easy to sort my non-pregnancy clothes without remorse but it’s only been in the past couple months since having my baby that I am back to wearing those clothes. First of all, I credit awareness of my True Nature and understanding of the Law of Attraction with losing all of my baby weight (I gained 45 lbs) in about 4 months!! Secondly, I’m so thankful that I dumped the not-my-type clothes when I did so there is no second-guessing and pining for those items now. My advice to women: learn your type, be brave, and be positive! (Caveat: maybe this is just easier for us Type 3s?)
