Ever experience buyer’s remorse? Even after everything in the dressing room seems to check out?

That item just hangs in your closet for ages, unworn. You don’t want to get rid of it because you spent money on it. But you just don’t like to wear it.

If you’re Dressing Your Truth, this happens a lot less often. But your judgment on which clothes to buy might STILL get a little clouded in the dressing room by other factors (like price or time or pressure).

You just don’t have to do it anymore. Don’t waste another dime!

Today, Anne and I share with you two vital questions to ask yourself at that point of decision in the dressing room. Answer these two questions honestly and you will end buyer’s remorse forever.

Watch the video to hear both questions. And don’t miss Anne’s bonus questions in the last minute of the video…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGA8qMyW2EU

Think about the items in your closet you never wear. Would these questions have helped you put them back on the rack?

We want to hear which questions YOU ask yourself while you’re shopping. What other tips do you have to help out ladies in the dressing room? Please share a comment below.

And like we said in the video, you don’t have to leave those unloved clothes in your closet…

If they fit Dressing Your Truth guidelines (even if you don’t love them), bring them to our store and participate in our clothing exchange. We’ll give you Dressing Your Truth store credit on the spot, so you can buy something you’ll wear all the time. Click here to learn more about the Dressing Your Truth clothing exchange.

Can you pull it off?

Absolutely—if you get the right kind of red.

Here at Dressing Your Truth, we believe that every woman can wear red lips. But there are some tricks to making sure you choose a red that really highlights YOU!

My amazing daughter and Beauty Expert, Anne, has put together some great lipstick samples to show you. There are more possibilities than you think.

What you’ll see when you watch the video:

2 celebrities wearing bold red lips (one works, one doesn’t)

Examples of red lipstick… perfect for every Type

Celebrity examples showing off all four qualities of red lipstick

A picture of me in the boldest, reddest lips you’ve ever seen!

Take a peek at the video and tell us what you think about picking the perfect red lipstick:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGrB-HtMC8I

We hope you try out these colors. What other colors and brands of lipstick do you recommend for your Type of beauty? Please share in a comment.

If you haven’t tried out red lips (perfect for your Type), right now is a good time to start. Check out all the options we told you about at the Dressing Your Truth Online Store.

Not sure which red is your Type?

Like I said in the video, there are 4 Types of beauty in my Beauty Profiling system. Your dominant Type shows up in your facial features, your body language, and the natural movement of your thoughts and feelings.

When you wear red lipstick that matches the quality of your natural movement, you bring your whole face to life—not just your lips!

If you haven’t discovered your Beauty Profile yet, I know the perfect place for your to start. Take my 3-Minute Beauty Confidence Quiz.

Braids can can act like an accessory in your hair without actually using an accessory. They keep hair up off your face without resorting to a ponytail. And there are so many ways you can style braids, all according to your Type of beauty.

We want to show you a quick braided accent that you can add to any hairstyle, no matter your Beauty Type. This is an especially fun way to do second- and third-day hair.

Watch the video to see exactly how Sarah does it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifkRkuiNvqE

I hope you’ll try this soon. Leave a comment and share another braid idea with us.

And remember our tips to customize braids to your Type of beauty:

Type 1: Just follow Sarah’s lead to create a bright, animated braid. Or add even more fun with asymmetrical braids—two braids of different widths on the same side.

Type 2: Your braids look best when blended in with the rest of your hair. Create a softened braid by not pulling hair tight as you go, or by loosening hair with your fingers once the braid is finished.

Type 3: Take your cue from Sarah for a rich, dynamic braid. Make sure you do this braid style right from the hairline so it’s featured and creates texture. Move in an angle to make it edgy.

Type 4: Your bold, striking beauty will look great with clean braids that create parallel lines. Follow other parallels in your features or create two symmetrical braids, side by side.

We love sharing fun hairstyle tips with you and seeing what you do with them! If you try out your version of Sarah’s braid, snap a picture and post it on the Dressing Your Truth facebook wall.

You don’t have to wash your hair every day. In fact, second day hair can look just as good or better than the day before!

The beautiful women on my 4 Types Beauty Panel are all experts at great every day hair styles. And they want to share some hair styling tips so every single day (including that second day!) can be a good hair day:

The Best Cut:

Good hair days depend on a good cut. Marcy, our bright, animated Beauty Expert prefers the layers from a razor cut. But Sheryl, our bold, striking Expert loves the nice, clean line that scissors make.

Learn which techniques support your Type of beauty. And trust your beauty sixth sense so you can communicate confidently with your hairstylist.

The Best Color:

Fall’s coming up. And the fashion and beauty industry often tell us to go darker this time of year. But for some Types of beauty, that just won’t work.

No matter what you do to first or second day hair, it won’t look good if you have the wrong color. Make sure your color supports YOU, not the time of year.

Watch the video to find out why bright, animated Marcy actually highlights her hair come fall—and which fun Type 1 color looks just fabulous with it!

The Best Style:

To get good style with second day hair, you have to lock that style in place on the first. Use the right tools while the blow dryer is on, and you won’t have to struggle to style your hair when it’s dry.

How? Change the blow dryer setting. As a Type 3, I thought hotter and faster was better. But I turned it down and learned a trick to cut down on frizz. Click here if you haven’t seen it yet.

The Best Second Day Hair!

Get it right the first time. Use product and 5 extra minutes getting things right on the first day and your second day hair will just need smoothing product to touch up. You might even make it to third-day hair.

Wash your bangs. Sarah, our rich, dynamic Beauty Expert, pulls her hair back in the shower with a headband and washes just her bangs. This gives her fresh hair around her face without styling everything again.

Refresh (or don’t). There are some great dry shampoos out there—like the Dressing Your Truth True Refresh—to perk up your hair on second days. Use it if you like it. But remember, always check in with your beauty sixth sense. Sheryl explains in the video why she doesn’t like second day hair at all.

Watch the video for more tips and Anne’s details to avoid shower humidity and flattened bed head:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hiQVEoUFlw

We would love to hear your hair styling tips. What helps you maintain your look on the second day? What’s your quick and easy go-to style? Please share a comment.

If you’re Dressing Your Truth, but still feel a little uncertain about your hair, notice your movement when you wash, style, and maintain it. Just noticing your tendencies can help you manage them in your best interest so you’re happier with the outcome.

If you’re not yet Dressing Your Truth, get ready for a good hair day every day (even the second day!). You can learn everything you ever wanted to know about creating every day hair styles that you love. Take the first step by discovering your Type of beauty. Click here to get started.

Has a hairstyle ever changed your life?

If you think that sounds silly, you won’t after today’s amazing Before and After.

Eliza is a bold, striking beauty in my Beauty Profiling program. As a Type 4, she looks great in a style that’s clean and structured, which she kind of has going on in her Before picture. Her hairstyle had simple lines, along with her clothes.

But look at what a new hairstyle can do! Eliza transformed her hair to reveal her gorgeous, striking features. And WOW! Can you even believe this is the same person?

Even without any extra accessories, she looks absolutely striking. In fact, her hairstyle itself becomes a fabulous accessory in her After picture.

I love the way her new hairstyle keeps the simplicity and throws out the blah! Doesn’t she look sensational?

What do you think of her makeover? Please share your thoughts in a positive comment.

A Dressing Your Truth makeover helps a woman embrace her true beauty. And I love every single one!

Go From a Beauty Industry Hairstyle…

The fashion and beauty industry gives hairstyle advice that treats you like you’re flawed. Only certain face shapes are supposedly ideal. When you look at it that way, you only get a hairstyle to minimize your imperfect features.

But what if you saw your face as already perfect and your features as something worth highlighting?

…To a Dressing Your Truth Hairstyle

You might not have thought of it this way before, but your hair cut and color acts as a sort of frame for the movement of your face. It should highlight and support your features, not minimize them!

If you haven’t started Dressing Your Truth, a life-changing hairstyle is waiting for you. My easy-to-use online training program will give you all the tools you need to create a hairstyle (and wardrobe and personal style) that really expresses you. It’s simple and sensational!

The fashion world tells women that beauty fades. The multimillion dollar anti-aging industry convinces women that once the grey hairs or the wrinkles show up, it’s all over.

It’s not true! Everyone gets older. And beauty and fashion aren’t about age anyway.

Your beauty, even when you grow older, is about expressing your true best self—and, boy, do these women have fun with that idea! When you watch this fun video, you’ll hear one woman say that she thinks of fashion as creating a piece of art. Do you create art with your personal style?

I love the message that these women embody. You can have fun with fashion, no matter your age. You don’t have to buy in to the the myth that you lose your beauty and sense of fashion the older you get!

Watch the video. It will inspire you and put a smile on your face.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-gD6WgEqNU

Aren’t these ladies delightful? Which of their outfits is your favorite? I would love to hear how you express your beauty the older you get. Please share in a comment.

You might not feel comfortable dressing up the way these women do. But that’s the great thing—you don’t have to! By being themselves and just doing what they love, these women inspire other women to be themselves, too.

You’ll age most gracefully if you’re living and dressing true to yourself. If you haven’t started Dressing Your Truth, now is the perfect time to start. Take the first step to embracing your true beauty by discovering your personal Beauty Profile.

I’ll leave you with this reminder about getting older: “Young women, you’re going to be an old woman someday. Don’t worry about it. Don’t sweat it. Don’t worry about getting older. Every era, it adds character.”

It can! My 4 Types Beauty Panel joins me with great tips to help you know how to put an outfit together, easy.

Their outfit tips are specific to the 4 Types in my Beauty Profiling system. If you’re not familiar with the system, still take a look at their great advice. And then check out the link below to discover the essential key to putting together outfits that make you look amazing!

If you’re already Dressing Your Truth, you know how to express your true beauty. But you still have to put together an outfit every day. So let’s look at some tips (specific to your Type) to help you when you open up that closet…

Outfit Tips for Every Type

Bright, Animated Type 1

Putting together an outfit might not look like a process for you—not a structured one anyway. That’s great! Embrace your random, spontaneous nature and put on whatever feels fresh. Once you’re dressed, stop long enough to check in that you’re wearing something that feels fun to you.

Pay attention to what Marcy says in the video about her biggest reward with mixing color.

Subtle, Soft Type 2

Your attention to detail is a strength, so don’t let the details overwhelm you. If you want to wear a particular item, start there. Then enjoy assembling details around that favorite item. You might be more willing to try something new if you remind yourself that you don’t have to repeat anything you don’t like.

Watch the video to see how Anne paired two colors she normally wouldn’t. She looks great!

Rich, Dynamic Type 3

Like a Type 2, you might choose an item you want to wear and build an outfit around it. But you’ll be more swift about it. Make sure your closet’s set up for quick, practical results. If your priority item for the day isn’t working, you can scrap it and go with an outfit you know will work. Just try again later.

In the video, Sarah talks about items she likes to build an outfit around, and I explain my funny approach to clothes I haven’t worn recently.

Bold, Striking Type 4

When you’re Dressing Your Truth, you have a high standard for what you keep in your closet and put on your body. That’s great! Don’t add anything to an outfit that doesn’t meet your standard. If you don’t like something—even if it’s an item that worked for you in the past—don’t feel obligated to hold onto it. Just keep perfecting your wardrobe.

I wonder how many Type 4′s share Sheryl’s experience with bold color.

Feel like you understand a little more about how to put outfits together? Watch the video to learn more tips and hear the outfit inspiration I get some mornings before I ever look in my closet!

We’d love to hear how you play with YOUR wardrobe. Leave a comment and tell us the trick that helps you build a great outfit.

Three more great outfit tips for all Types

When you think about outfit ideas, remember to also think about movement. The list of your Beauty Profile key words in my book explains your movement—including the way you put together an outfit! Read through the list again with this in mind and embrace your own unique process.

Create a style library. It doesn’t have to be professional or high-tech. Just take a picture of today’s outfit with the camera on your phone. Putting together an outfit with what you have becomes that much easier when you have an archive of cute outfit ideas you already came up with!

Try new things and listen to YOUR style. You have a beauty sixth sense: use it.

Dressing Your Truth is a makeover system that turns all these outfit tips into a simple process. All the clothes in your closet look amazing together—and, most important, they look amazing on you! Our easy-to-use online training program teaches you how to put together outfits, using 5 key elements customized to the movement of your facial features, body language, and even personality.

If you never want to wonder how to put together an outfit ever again (and look amazing every day!), take the first step by taking my 3-Minute Beauty Confidence Quiz.
