Very nice Sara! I have a very similar before photo of myself. Sleak hair and a grey patterned shirt. I thought I looked pretty cute but when I look back on it if think I look pale and plain, but the blemish on my chin sticks out like a sore thumb. Isn’t it amazing what DYT can do? I LOVE your hair! I’m still trying to find what works for me. You look great!!

Sara looks fantastic! I bet she lights up every room she walks into!

Wow! I think this is my favorite makeover of 2012! She has come to life before your eyes! Going straight to my closet and clearing out my non-type 1 colors! This so clearly demonstrates the dressing your truth difference…beautiful!

This is a fabulous makeover! She really does look like she’s ready for a beautiful Spring day. I adore her hair!!

What a difference! This is one of the better “before” and “afters” that I have seen in your work Carol. In the “before” photo, it almost looks as if the lights are completely out on her. She totally “lights up” with the “after” photo. Wow!

I like how you brought in a necklace that has completely different colors in it. I never would have thought that the red top and blue/green necklace actually “go together”, but with her coloring– you really pulled it off! She looks great in this color combination!

    ———–

I’ve been really torn about whether I’m a Type 1, 2, or 3. I know that I’m not a Type 4. I’ve been very frustrated which of the 3 types I am, but upon reading your book again– I’m leaning towards the Type 1 because of the brighter colors that they wear. I’m starting out slow with this. Rather than completely tossing out my black clothing and starting over again, I’m going to gradually have to replace items and start with scarves and necklaces that can pull color back to my face. So far, so good.

When I am wearing brighter accents near my face– I immediately hear “miss” instead of “yes mamm”. This is a huge clue right here. The darker more drab colors that I have been wearing are making me look older where people respond much differently.

I’m experimenting with makeup shades too. This has been a very fun experiment to see how people respond when I am trying the 3 different types of looks and then matching these with clothes and makeup. It has been quite a sociology experiment. People treat you totally different based on the clothing colors/styles that you wear. It has made me a lot more aware of appearance and how you are treated based on what you are wearing.

Scarves and a few lighter brighter jewelry pieces are a much easier transition financially than tossing everything out and then starting from scratch. With my current budget, this will have to be a very gradual process… but what I am noticing, it is a lot more fun to wear brighter clothing and makeup. I feel younger and more attractive.

I can now see why the dark autumn color couch is not totally right for me. It has been sitting in my living room for months and I hardly like to even go in that room. The color is just not right for me. I need something lighter and brighter. My boyfriend talked me into the couch… it may have been a lot more “his thing” than mine.

Isn’t it amazing how bright colors can overshadow one kind of pretty face and give another one the pizzaz needed to make it glow? This lady’s personality shines out with the brightness and tone of her new top. Beautiful!
