The Most Fun You’ll Ever Have Packing for Summer Vacation

Carol Tuttle

If you take a trip this summer, will you consider packing only your underwear?

And nothing else?

Jessi Arrington did just that.

I can’t wait for you to watch how this Type 1 bright, animated woman lives her truth beautifully.

For a week-long trip to LA, designer Jessi Arrington packed one small suitcase with 7 pairs of underpants inside. When she arrived, she found a week’s worth of clothes in thrift stores in the area. And then she showed off her finds in a short TED talk, called Wearing Nothing New.

Watch the video to see all of her fun outfits, find out the life lessons she learned, and hear the good message at the end that is so inspiring. All in less than six minutes:

Which of Jessi Arrington’s life lessons resonate with you most? How will you apply one of them in your life today? Please share your thoughts in a comment.

I challenged my readers earlier this week to try something totally new with beauty. Jessi Arrington’s experiment might be a fun place for you to start. You could try something like this on a vacation. Or you could even try it for a week while you are home. You can alter the experiment to fit your own needs and Type of beauty.

If you aren’t Dressing Your Truth, take the first step by discovering your personal Beauty Profile. You don’t have to be bright and bubbly like Jessi Arrington. But you can embrace your inner beauty in your outer expression the way she has—and it will show!

LOVE!!!! This is my very favorite blog post of the month. ;-) Seriously, the only Carol blog post that’s resonated with me this much was the heart chakra healing session. Definitely my top 2 to refer to my friends!!

The life lessons that most resonated were: that if you are happy you will attract other happy people to you, that fitting in is over-rated (just be who you are), that devloping your own unique personal style is a great way to tell the world something about you without having to say a word (great idea for a Type 2 like me!). Jessi was so energetic and cute in that video…..so Type 1! Thanks for sharing this Carol:))

Love her sense of being true to herself, even as her outfits change.
Also the way she instinctively does color therapy.

This was great. I really like what she said and her cofidence was so inspiring. I like some of her outfits and may try doing some of them and being true to what I really like and am. Go Type 1s.

Today my new boss told me, “when you create, you create big.” Except he said it as a bad thing.

I had spilled tiny pieces everywhere while completing a project and he was agitated by the mess on the floor.

I took a deep breath, smiled, said “thank you”, and came dashing to thecarolblog.com to be reassured (again) that I’m a Type One and it’s ok to be me. Thanks for this post! It’s inspiring to see other women being true to their nature and “creating big” in this world! Especially random, colorful, and cute women like Jessi Arrington!
