Have you ever had a great idea for a business?
You could be an entrepreneur. Really.
There’s a common assumption that only one of the 4 Types in my Energy Profiling System makes a good entrepreneur (do you know which one it is?). We want to put that myth to rest.
A business takes work and energy to get up and running. But anyone can do it—even you!
We talk today about an upward, light, Type 1 entrepreneur. You might not initially think of a person with a spontaneous, unstructured nature as someone who would naturally follow through on starting a business, but they are fabulous entrepreneurs—especially when they honor and embrace their natural gifts.
Watch the video to see how your light, buoyant strengths can really empower you in a business setting. And find out how you can work with your potential challenges. I’ll even give you an exercise to do with my book, It’s Just My Nature, just to double-check that the business you want to jump into is a good fit for you. Watch and see…
What do you think? What do you feel inspired to do now? Please share a comment and tell me how this video has helped you think about your own goals.
That’s what I love most about Energy Profiling. Knowing your Energy Type empowers you to succeed at whatever you want to accomplish! When you learn your Energy Profile, you discover how to embrace your natural movement to become the best, truest version of yourself—no matter what goals and interests you might have.
If you haven’t discovered your Energy Profile yet, do it today. Purchase the Energy Profiling Bundle to learn how you can better embrace your natural strengths to create greater success in every area of your life.

I’m loving reading your blog posts daily. Can’t wait to see if you do this talk for type 2.

My comment and question is about balance. I am a mother of 4 boys (a baby on the way too) and I have a lot going on in my world. I have lots of ideas, interest and many of my ideas are business directed. I would like to know how you balanced your family with your business. I know as a type 3 you can get lots of things into action. As a type 1 I can get lots of balls going but I seem to get caught up in the one ball in my hand because I am so into it I feel I am neglecting the other things or it is because I am thinking of all the other things I need to do at the same time. overwhelm!
I guess the focus on one thing is because I know I will keep the ideas going until I explode, so I have to force myself to focus…. if I let my mind go I could have 12 business ideas going and never get to any (in my daydream forget I have house, kids, husband, etc)
I know being the sister of 2 other type ones and a type one mother that this is what they do too.
My whole family tend to call me for ideas too and i get caught up in their ideas too.

I love the idea of using the word list in the book. I’ve thought about using that just to figure out people, but never for specific situations before.

This is very helpful being a type 4 wife of a type 1 husband who is in the process of starting a business. I’m so glad that I have been reminding him to be true to himself and hearing from you that a type 1 really can be a successful entrepreneur makes me want to support his nature even more! I hope to show this to him and give him the encouragement he needs! He is so amazing! Thank you for all your wonderful information… it is changing our lives!

Thanks for this video! I do have my own business, and often struggle to keep it running in my type 1 energy because I have such a strong type 3 secondary. I’ve found that when I feel calm and happy, I’m am sticking with type 1 but if I start to push too hard, I do feel anxious! (Perfect word Sarah). Feeling anxious is the first indicator that I have slipped out of my primary energy.

Thanks for this. I’ve been thinking about an idea for a while and you brought up some really good points to consider and keep in mind that will really help with my endeavors.

I’ve always been attracted to/ wanted to be an entrepreneur. Thanks for the inspiration, and for saying to make sure that your business will fit you. It really helps!

Thanks for this! I’m a primary type2, but feel like my T1 is extremely strong as well. I’ve just started my own little business, so I’m so glad you’re doing this series!

Hello! I’m a Type 1 who’s started a business a few months ago and am now struggling with the followthrough and more repetitive parts of my business. Thanks for the “permission” to refocus on my strengths, and keep bringing my gifts to the world (and yes, its all about making people’s lives better — how’d you know
) Thanks!

Hi! I am a Type 1 and I have my own Life Coaching business. I have been doing this work for nearly 6 years. I have always enjoyed helping others have a more fulfilled and happy life. So, I have found the perfect business for me!

I had an a-ha! I am a 1/4 but had been living as a 4. In the past, I rarely let other people join my team to help my ideas come to fruition; I thought I had to do everything myself so it would be done correctly. I am seeing now that the best way for me to succeed is to trust others and allow the people who desire to help me to join me in my adventures!

I am a Type 1 freelance musician. I find that hiring a professional advisor for specific projects helps get things done, as well as having a good accountant that is used to working with musicians. Recently I picked out 3-4 major ideas that I want to prioritize, such as recording an album and writing a professional CV/concert CV, that I am getting professional advice on planning. Getting help for the planning phase has been important, because I easily see the idea and the end result I want, but not necessarily the logical steps to get there. Take time to find the right person, not just “anyone”/the first name you see in the phone book.

…and first I had to recognize the fact that I really do need help with the planning phase, instead of forcing myself into an unnatural process and blaming myself for not handling my business the same way my colleagues (4s and 2s) do. When I accepted my 1-ness, it was easy to see where I needed help and in what way. I also stopped believing that I was less successful than my colleagues.

Knowing my type has made a huge difference in developing my business, both in how I have refined it over the last several years and how I show up as the real me in it instead of how I think I should be to be successful. It’s getting easier and easier to to stay true to my nature even as I grow my business in a way the is just right for me.
Thanks a zillion!
