Why do women stop, or in fact never start to accessorize their wardrobes? There are so many great accessories including jewelry, scarves, cuffs, and larger earrings that many women are intimidated by. But why is that? Dressing Your Truth Beauty Expert Sarah and I answer that question! I definitely wore the little, medium sized jewelry pieces. I convinced myself that being 5’1″ I couldn’t wear the big bold jewelry – it overpowered me. LOL! Now I won’t be without it. I also wore all silver pieces – no more! Fashioinable belts were not in my inventory – just practical ones. I love the accessories and feel I need more to support my mix and match style. LOVE DYT! Thank you, Ladies!

Wow! Day and night difference!!! I am a type three and I can not say enough about how accessorizing has made the biggest difference in my life. I was almost getting anxiety watching you guys with out the jewelry. haha. I love how the rich substantial jewelry makes me feel!!! I never go without it.

Hi Carol! I recently had an inspiring woman from the Dress Your Truth world save my life by giving me your book. I love what you do for women. I have a question about accessorizing though. I know women who find the shopping side of it is daunting, but could you at some point address the need we feel to simplify? I feel like its hard to define the line between gaudy, and what fits, and what if I’m over simplifying because I’m trying not to walk that line? What would you suggest? Thank you!

Dear Anna, thanks for your question. My questions to you are, do you know your Type of beauty and have you gone through the Dressing Your Truth online training? Knowing where you are in the process would definitely influence how I would answer your question.

Wow, Sarah and Carol you look so unfinished without your accessories. The difference is just amazing. Great vlog.

I’d like to know more about discovering your secondary type and if you even have one. I caught that part about Carol not wearing a scarf. I’ve been through the course (going through it again) and a few night clubs.

As a type 1 I still struggle with accessorizing, although I love shopping for them! When I see the other types and their accessories, I think they look great, but I still have trouble seeing ‘cute’ when the T1′s accessorize. It appears overdone, especially on me. I’ve been at this for almost a year now, and I’d say that is the one thing I still struggle with.
I think this might have something to do with not wanting to draw attention to myself due to my weight. I’m getting there though! Thanks for this vlog…I’ll try wearing some of my more fun jewelry today

oh to cindy in the present tense’s comment about not wanting to draw attention to myself due to my weight – GUESS WHAT!! people never notice my “weight” because i move like a 1 and all the movement in my jewelry reflects that too.. it doesn’t have to seem “cute” to me (how i dress) – but i find when i put all the pieces together, other people go “cute”.
When you reflect your one-ness people are looking at your energy! woohoo!
Yes, Carol i gave away my tribal pieces decades ago! Zut alors, now i am stuck with some ideal 3 pieces that i bought online that i thought were light and pretty and really i could knock out a biker with some of the necklaces i bought by mistake.
And yes, there’s that nakedness without accessories.. i am at the point where i leave my 18K earrings in (all six of them) and i have two necklaces and and a bracelet i never take off as well.. so that’s my ‘basic’ – but to go out – i will add accessories as the mood strikes.
I can honestly say i have not enjoyed dress up so much since i was a child and mummy made all my dresses.
This was a good one Carol, thanks

I am a type 4, I just have no interest to accessorize beyond sparkly studs and my simple tungstan wedding band. I LOVE simplicity and have not found any accessories that I feel remain true to me. I don’t like things laying across my chest, the pressure is so irritating! I am however very intrigued by the idea of a bold pink or black scarf tied around my neck, much like audrey hepburn would. I admit seeing you two without accessories was really weird! You are both beautiful!

I recently saw a line of women waiting to sign up for something. They were dressed like the before in this video, nice clothing and little to no jewelry. Then an accessorized woman joined the line and really stood above the crowd. She looked so self-confidant and poised and had the line been for a job or some other opportunity I’m sure that woman would have had an edge. And they weren’t even dressing their truth.
This video is proof that when done according to type accessories don’t call attention to themselves even if they are large &/or colorful. My eyes didn’t go to the pieces, they stayed with Carol’s and Sarah’s faces, but their faces look better in the “after.”
