Energy profiling saves relationships!
Knowing Type 4s naturally make things better has helped me understand why the chairperson of a non-profit I am secretary for feels the need to edit my minutes for passive voice. Although I respect and understand this about her nature, my 3ness wants to tell her to do them herself!
When I first started I would type-up the minutes the next day (get it done Type 3) until I immediately received the red-marked passive voice edits (make it better Type 4). It caused me to not do the minutes until I absolutely had to because I was avoiding the edits. Last week I was able to understand why this was a problem for me. Now that I know about EP, I understand her better and know that I need to respect her Type 4 while living my Type 3 truth.
The one area I am struggling with understanding though is that when she returns the minutes she explains what she has done and says that the edits are a personal preference and it is my choice if I want to use them or not. I cannot embrace not using the edits. Everyone tells me to just send them out as I had them, but I just cannot seem to do that after she has sent me what she feels is correct. Why?
