One of the most common questions I get is “what is the best combination of the Types in a relationship.” I answer that question as well as take a deeper look at the pluses and minuses for 2 Type 3′s or 2 Type 4′s being in a relationship together. This is also helpful for parents in relating to children of their same Type. Learn what Type you are, it’s fun and easy go to http://myenergyprofile.com

Your comment about dominant/subdominant relationships shifting to a more equal balance is very apparent to me in the world today. I think we also need to apply that to parenting. The children of this generation are not as easily coersed as we were by our parents. We have to be learning new ways to teach them and persuade them to do what is right without being domineering. This has been a frustration for me with my children and energy typing has been a useful tool in helping me understand better ways to relate to them.

I looked and looked to find this video. I didn’t realize it was so long ago!
Have you made a video about two Type 2′s? Would they ever get anything done, or would they spend their lives rocking in their rocking chairs and making plans? (Maybe they’d love that!) Or would their secondary types come out in order to get things done?

Every Type gets things done, just in our unique movement. Your opinion of Type 2′s might want to be re-evaluated! One of the richest men in the world is a Type 2 – Bill Gates! I’d say he has gotten a lot done! I feel impressed to be direct here in respect of all the Type 2′s in the world, that your comment is expressing some unneccessary judgement in describing Type 2′s as people who only want to sit in rocking chairs. My goal with Energy Profiling is to help us all release thes unnecessary judgments of each other that are not honoring of who we are! All my Type 2 family members accomplish a lot, they just move through it with more detailed planning and a more methodical approach than other Types.

Darn! I was looking for an excuse why I love to plan everything but rarely actually do any of it. I would love nothing more than to sit in a cozy armchair and read all day!

Oh, and the reason I asked the question is because I find myself attracted to several Type 2′s
I’m attracted to all types, but I can think of a few Type 2′s specifically.

Katie, what Type do you think you are? I just looked you up on Facebook, would you like some feedback about what your facial features are expressing?
June 15th, 2010 at 9:44 pm
Katie, I was hoping you would respond, my sense is by your comments that you have assessed yourself as a Type 2, from your facial features you express a lot of Type 3- chiseled jawline, more texture in your skin, nose that come to an angle, multiple smile lines, which are all beautiful Type 3 features, so if you were to ask me what your dominant Type is, I would say a Type 3 based on the physical traits you express. Type 3′s are drawn to Type 2′s as they offer a calming effect that Type 3′s benefit from. Hope this helps.

Carol – Thank you! I have been really confused about my type because of the physical features. I had watched your blog videos and I specifically thought of the smile lines, triangular shape, etc. I started the book thinking I was a Type 3 because of that. But as I read through the Type 2 section, I was thinking “that’s me” over and over and over. I very rarely thought that about the Type 3 characteristics. I don’t mean to convince you that I’m a Type 2, but I wanted to discuss what I think about myself and how I might be getting stuck in my secondary type.
I went through the Type 2 section just now and wrote down everything that applied to me. Unfortunately it ended up being 2 pages in Word (800 words) and I didn’t even get to the Type 3 section of the book yet! I have got to get going on some other early-morning work and will have to do the Type 3 section later. Should I email it to you, or write it out here?
I feel terrified to try to force myself to act like a Type 3. I feel like it would be incredibly unnatural and faked. I feel like I would disappear behind the colors and textures of Type 3 clothes, that all people would see is a blaze of color, and they wouldn’t see me at all. Of course I haven’t actually tried that, so I don’t know what would happen
I like the Type 3 clothes, I just feel that they wouldn’t like me!

I have heard your same concern literally hundreds if not thousands of times from women who have the same fears before they have even tried to Dress Their Truth, these same women all have fallen in love with Dressing Their Truth and feel more freedom and permission to be themselves than any other time in their life. Also, getting in touch with your true nature is not an intellectual process, it is intuitive and heartfelt to feel the truth of who you are. The fact that you are getting so intellectual about it is a tactic the mind/ego uses to keep us from getting in touch with who we truly are. The mind/ego wants to keep us in suffering so it can continue to play out it’s survival skills in life!

I scheduled an energy draping — I need to see this to believe it!
I am trying to *feel* it. But when I read through the Type 3 information, I just don’t feel it. I am still persisting though!
In looking for DYT videos this morning, I stumbled across a forum where they have a 238-page thread on (in support of) DYT. One of the women started out on Page 2 of the thread convinced she was a Type 2. A few posts later, she had found out she was a Type 3. I just watched her makeover contest video, and she said she did not want to be a Type 3 and she cried when she got her body profiling back. I am going to talk to her!

(Sorry for the multiple comments.)
Also, this morning when I saw that the woman in the video could keep her curly hair and be a Type 3, I was far more willing to be a Type 3. I only learned to love my curly hair within the last 5 years, and I was NOT willing to straighten it to be edgy. I hadn’t seen your latest before/after pictures until today and hadn’t seen any Type 3′s with curly hair until today. I am far more willing to be a Type 3 if I can keep my curls

Mmm, I just have to say a Type 2 would not have missed that detail! We have been teaching for years that every Type can have curly hair and there is a way to cut and style curly hair that is perfect for each Type! I have met numerous Type 1′s and 3′s that thought I am a Type 2, I am so detailed only to realize they were taking care of details like 1′s and 3′s, not like a real Type 2. This will have to be my last comment, I hope you have found all this feedback supportive, and if it pushes some buttons, that usually means I am on to something! Hope to have you join us in Dressing Your Truth, it is a lot fun and incredibly supportive to our feminine nature!

Hello Carol,
through my childhood I’ve always felt like there was none of charge in between my parents unless something had happened and when both of them literally began to pull the blanket on themselves. As I’ve learned the Energy profiling I’m pretty sure that my father was a type 4 and my mom a type 3 (most likely).
I am a type 4 as well, and I’ve noticed myself always to wanting a partnership in relationships maybe because of being drawn to types 3 or 4 males. In reality though it ends up playing a “feminine” role, which I rebel and then quit the relationships.
I’ll very appreciate your insights on the combination of 3/4 being in a relationship.
Thanks,
Galina
