This is probably one of the most frequent questions I get. I give numerous assessment tools and a lot of guidance of how to know your dominant Type in both my books, “It’s Just My Nature!” and “Discover Your Personal Beauty Profile.” I share several clues and insights on how to know your dominant Type in this video. You can learn more about your dominant energy type at http://www.myenergyprofile.com and http://www.dressingyourtruth.com

Very timely question for me! I’ve been trying to read through the Type 3 information in It’s Just My Nature and forcing myself to see me in it. It’s still really not there, but I’m keeping at it. Barely a few hours before I saw this video, I scheduled an appointment for energy draping. I need to see these things in person.
I didn’t realize the Beauty Profiling book was significantly different from It’s Just My Nature. I just clicked over to buy the book and it offered me the Discover Your Beauty Profile course as well. I bought the Energy Profiling online course last November (though I just barely started it). Do I need the Beauty Profile online course as well?

My two book that teach the profiling “It’s Just My Nature!” and “Discover Your Personal Beauty Profile” are significantly different with similarities with the profiling content, I think women will benefit from reading both. The online courses are the same except for some intro and concluding segments that are different. When you purchase the Dressing Your Truth Online Experience you are given access to the Beauty Profiling online course as part of your hours and hours of online resources.

I was extremely frustrated trying to figure out my dominate type. The best tip from Carol for me was to think of how I was as a little girl. Well that was clearly a type 1, no questions… it still took some time to absorb it, since I judged type 1′s so heavily and just didn’t understand it all… obviously I was judging myself.
For me, I tried dressing and living a type 2 for a week or so, since I do have facial features of type 1 and 2 (which of course was frustrating again), but that is how I knew for SURE that I wasn’t a type 2, so it worked for me. I thought second, that I was a type 3, just because I wanted to be a type 3!! But it didn’t take long before I landed on the type 1, and went through a lot of grief at first, mostly feeling sad for the little girl that I lost because of harsh judgment about being ditsy and airheaded, and ‘not smart/organized/ and even worthy… yikes.
I’m back to my type 1 self. I would say it took me about a year to really get it on a deeper level. It would have taken 10 years through traditional therapy! Or maybe NEVER! I am also learning to move through each type as I feel the desire to do that, in my own animated way. It’s a process but I’m feeling much more confident and happy, and it’s rubbing off on EVERYONE!

Aloha Carol,
thank you for answering my question.
Well, I have your book AND I have the online program. I payed very deep attention to combo types 1 with 3 and 3 with 1, and sometimes I would get convinced I was 1, sometimes 3.
One of your trainers couldn’t know it from our skype conversations, and said she is unsure until we do energy draping.
Thank you for the answer, I will go and wear my 3 clothes now… but really, I do look good in clothes that (I consider as) 1 as well, you can see it on my FaceBook pictures:-)

Helena,
I am a dominant 3 with a very strong 1 secondary (probably because I had been trying to live as a 1 for MANY years.) I was dressing as a type 1 and thought I looked cute — appropriate!! When Carol pointed out my dominant energy was a 3 I was a little intimidated by the prospect of being what I judged as an aggressive movement. But I trusted her council and adjusted my wardrobe. What a difference!! I felt so much more comfortable and I looked younger, too.
My family is comprised of mostly type 1 and type 2 people and as a child I felt very out of place. To fit in I tried to live as a type 1. The majority of Hawaiians I know are type 1; you may have had an experience similar to mine. I am still aggressively working on clearing the judgments I made in my childhood about my true movement and everyday I am more able to embrace the energy in which God created me.

Kaylee,
Thank you so much for your helpful note. I was kinda feeling a pain of separation from my pinks and doubting again if I am actually 1 more than a 3. Now, that a fellow 3/1 shares her story, it really feels possible. Thank you again.
Are you in Hawaii? I am in Honolulu. Lets connect and go shopping together:-)
If you are not in Hawaii, lets FB and make friends:-)
