I shared this with my 8 year old daughter AND my 12 year old son. He is also bombarded by the media giving a false image of beauty. It lead into a great discussion. Thank you for saying it like it is.

Thanks Carol, that was great and it needed to be said.
That being said, I was out shopping for clothes for a trip about 6 weeks ago and a middle aged woman came into the department and asked the clerk if they carried any pants that come up to the waist. The clerk who looked to be in her early 20′s, smirked a bit and told her “That’s just not the style anymore.” I fully admit, I had the same question as the other customer.
Ok, so it’s “not the style”, but why do women seem to think they look “hot” with plumber’s crack? It makes me want to vomit when I see exposed butt cracks. I think it’s my inner germaphobe reacting.
What are your thoughts on this subject?

Our waist used to be up around our belly button, now it is more in position with our hip bone! I have to admit I prefer what is called a mid cut which does hit my hip bone, anything lower than that feels like my butt is going to come out any second, so I just don’t like how they feel! Go to consignment stores, you can find a lot more variety of styles in them!

Carol,
Great topic to address, especially with the way our young ladies are being influenced to dress.
I chuckled at the end, remembering times the wonderful times as a lactation consultant a mom will look at me and say “I want to breast feed but don’t know if I can.” I look them in the face and say “You’ve got great breast for breast feeding!” and watch their faces beam.
